Human Resources Business Partner Associate – Hybrid

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be the first point of contact for Management and employees providing front-line HR support and acting as a culture ambassador. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing moderate level guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
  • Implementing employee management process with various business units along side the Human Resource Manager.
  • Maintaining Canon Canada’s HR employee training platforms by creating and maintaining employee profiles and assign trainings.
  • Utilizing HR data to provide informed basic insights and recommendations on trends, challenges, and opportunities within the workforce.
  • Administering Canon Canada Leave of Absences (LOAs) cycle. Facilitate LOAs with employees and any necessary 3rd parties, ensure Canon remains up-to-date for each LOA, and facilitate returns to work.
  • Participating in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce to Canon Canada’s strategic goals and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and assisting in maintenance of accurate employee records. Partnering to develop HR related policies.
  • Building and maintaining a strategic partnership with employees and front-line managers within assigned client groups. Partner to drive a positive and engaging company culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives and communications.
  • Executing various HR processes along the employment life-cycle (e.g. conducting Employee on-boarding, orientation sessions, 3-month reviews, etc.). Administer the off-boarding process (processing resignations, liaising with recruitment, and conducting exit interviews) to ensure smooth transition for any exits from the company.
  • Completing and maintaining all workplace health and safety incident reports for Canon Canada.
  • Preparing human resources documentation and perform HR administrative tasks as required.

To Succeed, You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a minimum of 3 years experience in HR
  • CHRP designation is an asset
  • Ability to interpret situations and apply appropriate policies and legislation
  • Strong computer and technical skills are required; Microsoft Office programs with a focus on Excel
  • Intermediate project and process management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet hard deadlines
  • Experience with HRIS is considered an asset
  • French is considered an asset
